BIO-BASED ADDITIVES
Biorenewable
Biorenewability refers to anything that can be renewed or produced via biological or non-synthetic means. Our chemistries are complex mixtures that are biorenewable and thus are able to provide feedstock for the chemical industry so the cycle continues.
Biosustainable
Biosustainability represents the ability of an ecosystem (or in our case chemistry) to stay productive through time despite outside organisms deriving their needs from its natural resources. We pride ourselves on designing chemical solutions that have stamina.
Biodegradable
This refers to the ability of a substance to be decomposed or digested by bacteria or other living organisms which will eventually break it down to its basic components so it can blend back in with the earth, saving landfill space. LFS solutions are 100% biodegradable.
MC² scoring
Our MC² scoring system (Modern Carbon Content) measures sustainability by dividing the number of carbons derived from renewable sources by the total number of carbons in an active ingredient. A high MC² surfactant, for example, contains a high percentage of carbon atoms from natural sources.
